Risk Management is a vital part of project management at all stages. Brainstorming, using all company experience to identify potential risks and the mitigation route for those risks, is invaluable in fully preparing for a project. Contingency may need to be held for many risks as a financial provision in proportion to the impact of the risk and the probability of it happening.

Many organizations use Word templates or similar to log and manage risks, issues etc. All too often the risks are written down in a static document, filed and ignored. Risk management is a primary driver for project success, just as important (if not more so) than time and cost, so active risk management must be encouraged. We believe that a good risks and issues log aids active risk management.
